
We reported earlier that one major GPS company has already been working on getting it’s software ported to the iPhone, and now accorcing to a story at MSNBC. TomTom has gone on the record saying that its iPhone software “looks good and works well”.

Yesterday Twenty08 released a new instant messaging client for the iPhone/iPod touch onto the App Store. They are calling it MobileChat and claim that it allows you to connect to multiple IM services at once, including:
- AIM/ICQ/.Mac/MobileMe
- Windows Live/MSN
- Yahoo
- GTalk
- Jabber

Some time ago Qik announced that they were working on a video broadcast client for the iPhone. At the time of their initial announcement, Qik was only offered in a limited beta version for jailbroken phones. The company has now announced that all jailbroken iPhones running 1.1.4 will be able to get the client through Installer.app. Apple still will not allow streaming video via the iPhone’s camera so jailbreaking is the only way to use Qik.

RipDev has announced that they are on the verge of releasing their much anticipated installer 4 (Ugh, that’s installer.app. You know, the one all you guys have been hammering my email over). In a call to repository owners around the world, the RipDev (Russian iPhone Dev) team announced that they are ready to release a beta of their new installer.app. Jailbreakers were disappointed to find that the latest jailbreak adventure included the installation of Cydia instead of the more familiar (and more developer supported) installer.app. That realization has sparked a call from jailbreakers around the world for an installer that works with their new 2.0 firmware.
