I just got this bad boy and so far I am digging it. It is crammed with professional features that give it a real film camera feel in a digital camera body. I am still working with it so I will have to post my final opinion later but for now here are a few of the photos that I have taken with it and the specs (from the Canon site). I paid $402.00 at Fry's Electronics. I have a G7 too. It's the best point and shoot that I've ever owned. The only thing that I would change would be to make it a bit faster but I am not complaining.

You can make it a bit faster depending on the speed of the sd card you are using. try the fastest one. They are a bit more expensive but their read write speed is pretty impressive and will translate directly to faster shooting.
