Just because it’s newer doesn’t mean it’s better. With an almost 6 month newer device, Google is still following Apple’s iPhone 3Gs in frame-rate according to a recent study performed by the independent research firm Distinctive Developments. The test shows the the Nexus One’s frame rate not only lags behind, but lags far behind the iPhone 3GS. The reason is simple; the iPhone 3GS uses Neon floating-point optimization and the Nexus One does not.
Adding to this advantage, the iPhone 3GS’ capacitive screen performance and multitouch keyboard makes it easy to see how the innovative designs by Apple from months and even years ago have far out shown those of their direct competitors. While these advantages may seem minor, when taken as a whole these small details create a friendly and fast working environment that iPhone owners enjoy every day.
