With it’s relatively small list of tweaks, mostly security related, the latest iPhone OS update has proven to be about as exciting as watching paint dry. Many speculate that the new update was released exclusively to frustrate the jailbreak community. While this may be the case, the frustration did not last long thanks to the work of the iPhone Dev-Team. The team of iPhone whizzes announced this morning the release of their latest version of PwnageTool (v3.1.5 for Mac OS X) that allows jailbreakers to the update their devices to iPhone OS 3.1.3 while preserving the device’s ultrasn0w unlock and jailbroken state.

As usual, there’s a long list of precautions to be aware of before you undertake this latest jailbreak so please read the dev-team’s words carefully before deciding to proceed.
